Omaha punches above its weight for business travelers who stay an extra night. Eppley is ten minutes from downtown, the convention center sits inside the walkable core, and the dining is better than the city gets credit for.
Where to stay
The Farnam and Hotel Deco both keep you inside the downtown walk radius with real design and good bars. If your meetings are midtown, the Kimpton Cottonwood in Blackstone is the upgrade — and its lobby is a destination in itself.

Dinner worth the extra night
- The Drover — the steakhouse benchmark. Reserve.
- Stirnella — pasta and cocktails in Blackstone, the best all-round date-night room.
- Kitchen Table — chef-driven and unfussy, ideal for a solo dinner at the counter.
Getting around
Rideshares are quick and cheap. If you're extending past the weekend or heading to Lincoln, a rental car pays for itself fast.
